Split release of US black metal and black / ambient
"One Master take the first side, with two tracks. The songs, ‘Stormdivision’ and ‘Ironspirit’ are more direct and forceful than those on recent records, each one being a five minute blast of utter fury and rage...There’s an almost punk like energy throughout, and a directness that is hard to resist. The songs aren’t solely built on aggression though, as there’s a melodic edge to them that recalls the likes of Horna...
By contrast, Ninhursag are a very different proposition. Whilst the production of One Master’s side is red-raw, the four tracks from Ninhursag have a much colder atmosphere, that brings to mind the ritual occultism of Beherit, along with a more demo-esque rawness...Credit also has to be given the dark ambient, field-recording based outro ‘Cicuta’, which ends the split on a disquieting note."
Absolutely strong, black and bitter, like a cup of good old coffee or a properly packed pipe of strong tobacco. The album won't let you go unless you listen through it since the very first minute to the very last one, sunken in the frozen obsydian abyss. 10/10. lanserger22
Don't get me wrong. This is really good and everything is on point. But I'm just kind of confused about the huge elephant in the room regarding the band's name. Seriously? Like how is this not going to get mixed up with THE Leviathan? The Jef Whitehead 20+ year beast? I mean... what's next - "THE BTLS", "MTRHD" or maybe "VN HLN?" Music like this needs a less obvious touchpoint. Because as much as I like "Eradication of Nescience" - it's now begging to be compared to "Scar Sighted." Aka ... GTFO. bcb723
